Kyle Wingfield focuses his practice on resolving tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, Virginia Department of Taxation, and the North Carolina Department of Revenue.  Kyle has significant experience in managing audits, handling administrative appeals, and filing petitions in federal and state courts to obtain relief for his clients.

Kyle Wingfield focuses his practice on resolving tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, Virginia Department of Taxation, and the North Carolina Department of Revenue.  Kyle has significant experience in managing audits, handling administrative appeals, and filing petitions in federal and state courts to obtain relief for his clients.

His experience includes advising multi-state businesses on complex state and local tax issues in mergers and acquisitions. He is knowledgeable on state income, sale, use, and property tax issues, and he has worked closely with departments of revenues in many states.

Kyle is the Chair of the Virginia Bar Association – Taxation Section.  He is a member of the ABA State and Local Tax (SALT) Executive Committee and an editor for the ABA SALT newsletter (ConNexus). Kyle co-authored BNA Tax Management Portfolio 1360-2nd, Sales and Use Taxes: Retail Sales Issues. Kyle is listed among the "Legal Elite" from Virginia Business magazine (2020, 2022).

Kyle earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center and is a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
