Williams Mullen is pleased to announce the election of seven new partners. Kelley Holland (Litigation), Jennifer Morgan (Litigation), Cart Reilly (Real Estate), Ken Shevlin (Corporate), Ned Turnbull (Corporate), Kyle Wingfield (Tax Law) and Mark Zaruba (Corporate) were elected partners at the firm’s January board meeting.
The new partners are based throughout the firm’s footprint with three in Richmond and one each in Raleigh, N.C.; Charlottesville, Va.; Norfolk, Va.; and Virginia Beach, Va.
Kelley Holland (Norfolk) focuses her practice on general commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. With her experience on both sides of litigation at law firms and clerkships in district and appellate courts, she is able to represent diverse clients, including individuals, businesses, partnerships and corporations in commercial disputes.
Jennifer Morgan (Raleigh) practices in regulatory and administrative law. She focuses her practice on alcoholic beverage distribution and regulation and regularly represents suppliers, importers, wineries, breweries, distilleries, brokers, wholesalers and retail permittees before the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control (“ABC”) Commission.,
Cart Reilly (Virginia Beach) focuses her practice on financing transactions, real estate acquisitions and sales and commercial leasing. She represents sellers and purchasers in nearly every aspect of a commercial real estate transaction, from contract drafting and negotiation to due diligence and closing. She also routinely serves as lender’s counsel for financial institutions in a wide variety of financing transactions and often represents regional and national landlords and tenants in the preparation and negotiation of office, retail and industrial leases.
Ken Shevlin (Charlottesville) advises clients on a variety of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, secured financing, commercial real estate matters and general corporate issues. He has significant experience in asset deals, stock and membership interest purchase agreements, acquisition financing and commercial real estate transactions for clients in a wide range of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, retail and health care.
Ned Turnbull (Richmond) focuses his practice on private company mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, corporate governance and commercial transactions. Ned also assists companies with general business and corporate matters, including entity formations, corporate governance and complex corporate reorganizations and restructurings.
Kyle Wingfield (Richmond) focuses his practice on resolving tax disputes for businesses and their owners. Kyle has significant experience in managing audits and handling administrative and judicial appeals with the Internal Revenue Service, Virginia Department of Taxation and other state and local taxing authorities. His experience includes advising multi-state businesses on complex state and local tax issues in mergers and acquisitions.
Mark Zaruba (Richmond) represents clients with respect to securities, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters, with a particular focus on Regulation D private placement offerings, private equity fund formation and financing transactions for early-stage companies. Mark helps clients throughout all stages of their transactions — from advising on the structure of private equity funds, private placement offerings and other financing transactions, to the negotiation of transaction terms and drafting offering materials and ultimately closing the transaction.
