Williams Mullen announced today that three first-year associates have joined the firm.
James Thomas Bailey has joined William’s Mullen’s Business and Corporate team, working out of the Richmond office. Mr. Bailey received a B.A. with distinction from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the Washington and Lee School of Law, where he was the President of his class, a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board, and a finalist in the Robert J. Grey Jr. Negotiations Competition. He also has prior legislative experience, serving as an aide to a member of the Virginia General Assembly and a member of the United States Congress.
Matthew R. DeAtley has joined the firm’s Real Estate team in the Virginia Beach office. Mr. DeAtley graduated top in his class at Old Dominion University where he received a B.S. in communications. Upon graduation he was recognized as an Outstanding Scholar with a 4.0 GPA. He earned his J.D. at William and Mary School of Law, where he was a member of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, and a 2012 ABA Negotiation Nationals Semi-Finalist.
Richard D. Palmieri will be joining the firm’s Business and Corporate team in the firm’s Richmond office. Mr. Palmieri received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Rick served as a member of the Moot Court Board, as a manuscripts editor of the University of Richmond Law Review, and as the Vice Chancellor of the Walter Scott McNeill Law Society. Prior to attending law school, Rick earned his Bachelor of Science in meteorology and a Master’s of Science in Atmospheric Science from North Carolina State University.
