Jamie Watkins Bruno focuses her practice on banking and real estate matters. She assists a wide variety of commercial lenders, from local and community banks to national banking associations, on all aspects of commercial financial transactions, including acquisition, development and construction loans secured by real property. Jamie also has experience with asset-based lending, federal and state historic rehabilitation and federal low-income tax credit transactions and loan workouts.

Jamie is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate Law (2019-present), Banking and Finance Law (2023) and in Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars for Banking (2013-2014, 2019-2021). She has also been named among Virginia's "Legal Elite" by Virginia Business magazine (2016). She is a member of Leadership Metro Richmond's Leadership Quest Class of 2020, and she is also a member of the Virginia Bar Association and serves on the communications committee for the Richmond Bar Association.
In addition, she is a board member (secretary) for the Richmond chapter of the Risk Management Association. She was also a board member (legal counsel) for The Richard Bland College Foundation from 2013-2015. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a legal assistant in Washington, D.C., conducting legal research and preparing materials for depositions. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Jamie received her Juris Doctor degree from the College of William & Mary School of Law. While in law school, she was recognized for excellence in research, writing, analysis and client relations. She also served as a graduate research fellow and an articles editor for the William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law. She graduated, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington & Lee University.
